About

I’m an award-winning journalist based in Vienna, Austria, where I cover politics, culture, and Jewish life in Europe.

I currently serve as Moment Magazine's Europe Editor and am a writer for Ha'aretz, contributing regular features on European politics, in particular the rise of far-right populism. I am also the author of The Vienna Briefing, a weekly newsletter on current events in Austria. I have previously written for The Washington Post, The Guardian, The New Statesman, The Atlantic, Foreign Policy, Politico, The Daily Beast, Slate, New Lines, The Jewish Chronicle, The Jerusalem Post, The Times of Israel, K. La Revue and Fathom among others. My work in German has been published in Datum as well as the Standard, Presse, Wiener Zeitung, and Jüdische Echo.

In 2022, my Moment Magazine feature "David Duke Abroad" placed first in two categories at the American Jewish Press Association's Simon Rockower Awards, winning the David Frank Award for Excellence in Personality Profiles and the Award for Excellence in Writing About Antisemitism. In 2023, my Moment Magazine features "Can Malmö Solve Its Antisemitism Problem?" and "After Corbyn’s Exit, Is the Labour Party Safe for UK’s Jews?" placed first and second respectively for the Award for Excellence in Writing about Jewish Heritage and Jewish Peoplehood in Europe. In 2024, my Moment Magazine feature "An Unpleasant Experience" placed first for the Award for Excellence in Education Reporting and received an honourable mention for the Award for Excellence in Writing about Jewish Heritage and Jewish Peoplehood in Europe.

I graduated with an MA in History from University College London's School of Slavonic and East European Studies in 2011. I am a contributor to the essay collection Amos Oz: The Legacy of a Writer in Israel and Beyond (SUNY Press, 2023), described as a "thought-provoking anthology" "rich with information and ideas."
